Steamboat Arabia Museum Tour

The cargo steamboat, Arabia, laden with 220 tons of merchandise destined for western settlers, sank in the Missouri River in 1856, where it remained preserved in the cold mud until its excavation in the 1980s.
A virtual time capsule of the 1850s and one of the best collections of pre-Civil War artifacts in the world, the museum provides a fascinating look at frontier life, with displays of the steamboat's cargo, from china and hardware to jewelry and boots.
The tour includes a film of the excavation and restoration process.
Hall of Fame Luncheon

The Navy League will honor one new inductee at the Hall of Fame Luncheon on Wednesday, October 29. Since 1988, 48 Navy Leaguers have been inducted in the Hall of Fame and recognized for their contributions to the League over a span of 25 or more years.
Harry Truman Museum & Library Tour

The Harry S. Truman Presidential Museum and Library is dedicated to preserving the papers, books, and other historical materials relating to former President Harry S. Truman.
The museum includes an introductory film tribute to President Truman, which leads to the two floors of exhibits, including photos, film clips, news clippings, and memorabilia, covering Truman's life and career.
Fort Leavenworth Tour

Fort Leavenworth is the oldest active Army post west of the Mississippi River. During the country's westward expansion, it was a destination for thousands of soldiers, surveyors, emigrants, American Indians, preachers and settlers.
Col. Henry Leavenworth, with the officers and men of the 3rd Infantry Regiment from Jefferson Barracks at St. Louis, Mo., established the fort in 1827.

Sea Services Awards Luncheon

During the annual Sea Services Awards presentations, 21 exemplary Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen and Merchant Mariners will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to America’s security. Senior representatives from each of the sea services will participate in the presentations. Immediately following the luncheon, First Lady Gloria McGrath will host a reception to honor the recipients and their spouses. |
